Why This Clean Up Day Event Started
This event started because four-wheel driving on the beach is a popular activity in Brisbane, but unfortunately sometimes rubbish is left behind. This can be dangerous for both animals and humans, as it can pollute the water and damage the environment.
The aim of this event is to clean up any rubbish that has been left behind, so that everyone can enjoy the beach safely. This also helps to protect the local wildlife as well.
How You Can Get Involved
If you would like to come along and help out, then you can do so by turning up on the day or by registering online. It’s completely free to take part, and all you need to bring is yourself and some friends (if you have any).
There will be a briefing before the event starts, so that everyone knows what they need to do. Once the event is over, there will be a BBQ lunch provided for all of the volunteers.
